Hattie Avo Barnhart passed away Sunday May 19th, 2024 in Enville, TN at home at the age of 85. She was preceded by her parents Perry Allen Faultner and Elizabeth Ann Howe, her husband Elbert Barnhart, her brother James Faultner, her sisters Maudie Granneman, Bessie Ginder, Dolly Holcomb, and Stella Smith, and her daughter-in-law Tina Barnhart. She is survived by her brother Charlie Faultner, her sisters Rachel Cooper, and Flora McWaters, her son Lester (Toni) Johnson, her daughter Jerri Gail (Rick) Ortloff, her daughter Sandra (Ron) Dee, her daughter Diana (Kurt) Jackson, her son Randy (Tawnya) Johnson, her stepsons Rick Barnhart and Terry Barnhart, along with a multitude of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and a few great-great-grandchildren. Hattie Avo Barnhart (also known as Mom, Grandma Hattie, and Monnie) treasured her relationship with the Lord and her family above all else. She was known for her serving heart and thoughtfulness towards others, always making a craft, food, or card for the people in her life. She spent countless hours quilting and crocheting and ensured that each child and grandchild received a personalized quilt that she sewed herself. Her family thinks of her as a modern-day Dorcas (Acts 9:36-42). She made each child, grandchild, and great-grandchild feel special by sending handmade cards for every birthday. She loved to laugh, cut up, and have fun, and she made her home a place full of laughter, love, and plenty of food. She will be greatly missed by her family, friends, and anyone blessed enough to have known her.

Her visitation will be held at Broadstreet Church of Christ in Lexington Friday May 24th, 2024 from 5pm-9pm. Her visitation will recommence Saturday May 25th, 2024 from 9am-10am with her service to follow at 10am.
