Terry Susan Sutton Gossett

Terry Susan Sutton Gossett departed this earthly life and entered Glory on Friday May 24th, 2024 at 6:30am. She was preceded by her parents James Howard Sutton and Carolyn Sue Bennett Borden, her son Jared Tully Gossett, and so many other family and friends. She missed and longed for the day to be reunited with them. She was survived by her step mother Mary Sutton Thacker (Ernest), her brother Vance Gray, her sisters Shaun Winborn (Barry), Sharon McReynolds (Will), and Melanie Borden (Mark), her special cousin who was like a sister Trisha Creasy, her children Misty Gossett Brittain (Keith), Starla Gossett Hays, and a bonus daughter Michelle Gossett Hart, her grandchildren Tyler Powers (Lillian), Halle Maness (Colton), Alyssa Brittain, Shelby Brittain, CJ Rigsby, Alyson Gossett (Blake), Harley Beth Gossett, Jared Waylon Gossett, Dakota Hays (Allyson), and Gracie Hays, her great grandchildren Jaelyn Pierce Noah, Evie Mae and Ruby June Powers, Reagan Kay Wulfert, Emmett Levi Reed, Jared David Hays, and Daylon Howard. Terry will always be remembered for her kindness, laughter, her contagious smile, love for the Lord, and her love for others. Terry’s love for the Lord was the most important to her and next was her family. She had a love for family that was unconditional, which was evident by all who knew her and how much she loved her family. Terry had a servant’s heart, she was loving, humble, generous selfless, compassionate, and forgiving. She would be quick to tell you there was nothing you could do to make her, and God, not love you. 

Her family and friends will never forget the love we shared with her and the ways she impacted and touched our lives. It didn’t matter if it was a headache or heartache, she was going to lay hands on you and pray for you. She had the kind of faith that could move mountains. Everything about her embodied the heart of God and she lived out her life being who God created her to be. The Lord spoke to her years ago and told her “Tell the children I love them.” From that day forward it was her mission to tell everyone she encountered “Jesus loves you.”

Ministering to others was a true calling on her life, from ministering to children at the church, to working with the street ministry, and being a caretaker for so many for the last ministry. God called her to care for her great granddaughter Raegan Kay Wulfert.

She had so many special relationships with friends she truly loved like family and counted them as blessings as well as the many children she loved like her own, who all called her “mother” or “Nana.” Terry lived her life in such a way that it made others want to know more about the Father, who she loved and served. Terry left such a legacy for us to follow in how she lived, loved, and served. She will be loved and missed until we are with her again. 

Terry’s request was to celebrate her life with family with a private service in Wildersville, TN Thursday May 30th, 2024. Special thanks to all who loved and cared for her.
