He was a beloved father, husband, and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew him. David was born on December 17, 1949, in Lexington, Tennessee, to Henry and Berna Foster where he grew up on the family farm. He was raised with a love for the Lord. Upon marrying Deborah Joyner Foster in 1970, he moved to Decatur County and spent many years working as a truck driver and electrician and raising his family. Throughout his life, he was known for his hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others. But more than anything, David was a devoted father. He loved spending time with his children and grandchildren, sharing stories, playing games, and watching favorite TV shows. He was always there to offer guidance, support, and encouragement, no matter what challenges they faced reminding loved ones to always seek support from the Lord. In his free time, David enjoyed baseball, and was always eager to share his knowledge and enthusiasm with others. When his sons were young, he coached Minor League and Little League baseball, and as a grandfather, he coached from the stands. In his later years, he was a founding member of the Henderson County Humane Society rescuing innumerable puppies as well as facilitating the spay and neuter of many animals in Henderson County. David is survived by his loving wife, Deborah, his daughter, Tia, his sons, Jim (Kristi), Chip (Jeanne), and T.J. (Ashley); his grandchildren, Jacob (Dixie), Hannah, and Aubrey Pearcy, Alyssa and Chloe Blankenship, Jacob and Owen Foster, Devon and Hunter Lawton, Cadie Foster, and Celeste, Emerie, and Lucas Melton; his great-grandchildren Jack Pearcy and Daisy and Opie Crocker as well as a special cousin Grayson Orman; his brothers George (Katie), Cliff (Deb), Charles (Doris), Terry (Wilma), his sister, Nancy (Danny) and his sister-in-law, Carol Hudson as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded by a daughter, Shelley, his parents, Henry and Berna Pratt Foster, and a brother Phillip Foster. His memory will be cherished by all who knew him.
The family will have a graveside service on Sunday, October 20th at 3 p.m. at the Parsons Cemetery.
