Jimmy Lafayette White, age 76, was born on July 19, 1949 and passed away Friday, July 25, 2025 in Lexington. Jimmy was a member of Sand Ridge Baptist Church. He worked as a dedicated tool and die maker at Leroy-Somer for 41 years.  In addition to his professional life, he served as treasurer of Mt. Gilead Baptist Church for 35 years and volunteered as a firefighter for many years, a testament to his generous spirit and commitment to helping others. He devoted much of his free time to creating webpages dedicated to his father’s past business, the Threadgill Store, which he later transitioned to Facebook. He also had a deep passion for exploring and preserving his family’s history.

Family was at the heart of Jimmy’s life. He found great joy in supporting his granddaughter, Molli Beth, on the softball field, traveling countless miles over the years to watch her play. His pride in her and love for his family was evident to all who knew him.

Jimmy is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Beth Bolen White; his daughter, Kelli Beth (Neal) Deere; his cherished granddaughter, Molli Beth Deere; his sister, Judy Meals; his nephew, Nick (Lindsey) Meals; great-nephew, Dylan Meals; and great-niece, Anna Carol Meals. He was preceded in death by his parents, Hilburn and Jerry White and his in-laws; Fred and Wilma Bolen, and brother-in-law; Charles Meals.

A graveside service will be held on Saturday, August 2nd at 3:00 PM at Pleasant Hill Cemetery, located at 331 Pleasant Hill Cemetery Road, Cedar Grove, TN 38321. All friends and loved ones are welcome to attend and celebrate Jimmy’s life.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorials be made to the Sand Ridge Baptist Church Building Fund.
