George Elby Morris

George Elby Morris passed away on October 18th, 2026 in Jackson, TN at the age of 76. He was preceded by James Floyd Morris and Mattie Louise (Whitten) Morris Rush, his brothers Wayne Morris, Coy Morris, and Paul Morris, and his sister Ollie (Morris) Martin. He is survived by his wife Sarah Lue (Leonard) Morris, his sister Anita (Morris) Self, his children Sean Morris (Megan), Tim Morris, and CJ Griffin (Parrish), his grandchildren Kirsten Griffin (Kinley), Eve Kizer (Mason), and Alexis M. Corhin Morris,  and his great grandchildren Sawyer Kizer and Swayzee Kizer.

George has been a bedrock for his family and community, spending his life in service through hard work, and volunteering as a leader for scouting over the course of 40 plus years. His passion and dedication never wavered for his immediate family and the family found through Boy Scouts of America. His presence will be profoundly missed in so many ways.

Mr. Morris’ Celebration of Life will be held Sunday October 25th, 2026 at Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation. Visitation will begin at 2pm with service to follow at 4pm.
