Amanda Leigh Schmidgall

On December 2nd, 1978, a beautiful baby girl was born to Paula Mae Lockhart and the late Tommy Lee Arnold. This sweet baby girl was named Amanda Leigh. On Saturday, March 28, 2026, Amanda gained her wings and transitioned to her heavenly home.

As a child, Amanda was very inquisitive and full of energy. She was affectionately called Lulu by family and friends. Family has always been very important to Amanda, and she made every effort to let her family know how much she loved them. While Amanda only had one sister (Attamara) and one brother (Eric), she had several cousins who were like siblings to her (Aishia, Tiffany, Drease, Tyson, and Montreal).

As a teen, she gave her life to God and was baptized at Key’s Chapel United Methodist Church where she attended with her late grandmother, Joyce, and her sister. During her teens, she met and married Michael Retana. Unto this union, God blessed them, with a handsome baby boy, Jordan Michael, and a beautiful baby girl, Alexis Leigh. They remained together until Michael passed in 2001.

Years later, she met and married Clint Clayton. During her marriage with Clint, Amanda attended Board Street Church of Christ where she rededicated her life to the Lord and became a member of the church. Although, this union was later dissolved, God blessed Amanda and Clint with a beautiful baby girl, Mya Leilah, and a handsome baby boy, Clint Michael Jr.

In 2020, she met and began dating Scott Schmidgall. They later wed on March 9th, 2022, blending their families. In this union, Amanda gained another son, Kavion, who she loved as much as her own children. During their time together, Scott and Amanda enjoyed visiting with family and friends, and traveling, including various casinos and dancing. They remained together until Amanda passed.

Amanda leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Scott, her mom Paula, her sons Jordan, Clint, Kavion, her daughters Alexis (Chris) and Mya (Gabriela), 4 grandchildren Michael, Miracle, Kylie, and River, 1 sister Attamara (Edward), 1 brother Eric (Marlieca), 4 nephews A’Darius, Sidney, Derick, and Desmond, 4 nieces Kayla, Macey, Anika, and Jamesa, a host of aunts, uncles, and cousins.

Her memorial service will be held Saturday, April 4th, 2026 at 11am at the Key’s Chapel United Methodist Church located on 268 Reeves Street Lexington, TN 38351.
