Ettie Frances (Markel) Thrower

Mrs. Ettie Frances (Markel) Thrower, of Lexington, TN passed away Saturday, April 17th, 2021, in her home at the age of 71. Frances was born on September 28th, 1949, in Vicksburg, MS. She served 15 years as Ministry Assistant for Beech River Baptist Association. She was active in the Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union both on the local and state level, as well as teaching Sunday School. She was preceded in death by her parents Henry Elmer and Billie B. (Jolley) Markel. She is survived by Gregory Michael Thrower, her husband of 50 years; her daughters, Bethany Ann Williams (Dan) and Danielle Elaine Bennett; and her grandsons, Micah Philip Williams, and Malachi James Williams; and two sisters, Mitzie Montgomery (Hugh) and Henrietta Krout. A memorial service will be held at First Baptist Church, Lexington, TN with a visitation Tuesday evening, April 20th, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. Wednesday morning April 21st, a visitation will be held at 9 a.m. with the service to begin at 10:00 a.m. The family requests in lieu of flowers, any memorials be given to the MAC fund at First Baptist Church of Lexington (50 Stanford Avenue, Lexington, TN 38351) or to the Tennessee Baptist Woman’s Missionary Union Endowment (Tennessee Baptist Foundation, P.O. Box 682789, Franklin, TN 37068) Henderson County Cremation Services of TN, LLC in charge of arrangements.
