4/14/1942 – 10/31/2026

Jackie Alvin Russell, 84, was born April 14th, 1942 in Lexington, Tennessee. He was a man whose life was built on hard work, strong values, faith, and most importantly, love for his family.

Jackie was a hardworking man through and through. For more than 50 years he owned and operated Jackie A. Russell Construction, dedicating much of his life to his work. He was the kind of man who was the happiest when he was busy, always finding something that needed to be done. His work ethic, determination, and dedication were an example to everyone around him.

When he wasn’t working, Jackie loved being outdoors. Hunting, spending time on his tractor, working on his farm and going to the gym were some of his favorite things. He enjoyed staying active and doing things in his own way. Whether he was working on the farm or tending to a project, he found satisfaction in a hard day’s work.
But beyond all the things he built and accomplished his greatest legacy was his family. He loved his family deeply and was devoted to them throughout his life. He shared 62 years of marriage with his beloved wife, Elizabeth, building a lifetime of memories together. Though they have been separated in this life, there is comfort in knowing they are together again.

His Christian Faith was an important part of his life, and the values he lived by – hard work, perseverance, faith, and family will continue to live on through the generations who loved him.

Jackie was preceded in death by his parents, Clyde Russell and Nadine Hollowell Russell; his loving wife of 62 years, Elizabeth Hall Russell; his son, Jackie Lynn Russell; his brothers, Robnert, Joe Wayne, Gene, and Ricky Russell; and his sister Betty Russell Dyer.

Left to cherish his memory are his daughter Beth Ann Russell Hosick (Chris); his son Randy Russell; his grandchildren, Tyler Blackstock (Alexis), Jacob Blackstock, Savannah Russell Goodman (Zach), Rylee Hosick, and Abigail Hosick; and his great grandchildren, Maddox and Declan Blackstock and Lincoln Goodman; his brother Larry Russell; and his sisters Mary Allen (Jimmy) and Wanda Austin.

To those who loved him, Jackie was so much more than a father, a grandfather, great-grandfather, and husband. He was a provider, a hard worker, and a man who spent his life taking care of the people he loved. The life he built, the lessons he taught, and the memories he leaves behind will never be forgotten.

His hands spent a lifetime building things, but his greatest accomplishment was the family and legacy he leaves behind. He will be missed more than words can express, loved beyond measure, and remembered always. Until we meet again.

The family wishes to express a very special thank you to Arden Hospice and their wonderful nurses and aides for the compassion, dignity, and care shown to Mr. Russell and our entire family.

Mr. Russell’s visitation will be held at Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation Monday, November 2nd, 2026 from 5pm-9pm. His visitation will recommence Tuesday November 3rd, 2026  from 10am-12pm with his graveside service follow at Lexington Cemetery at 1pm.
