John Richard Rickman “Choppy” “J.R.” was born June 8th, 1955 in Saint Louis, MO to the late Harold
Rickman and Virgina Lee Walters, and passed away on January 9th, 2023 in Middlefork, TN at the age of
67. He was preceded by his fiancé Jan Deenihan, his brothers Ronald Lee Rickman and Harold Ray
Rickman. He is survived by his stepmother Betty Rickman of Bolivar, TN, daughter Heather (Terry)
Rickman-Horton of Middlefork, TN, grandchildren Courtney (Jamie) Melson, Jefferey (Austin) Davis,
step-grandchildren Aimee and Brodie Horton, greatgrandchild Emerie Shae Melson, and step-
greatgrandchildren McKinlee and Madilynn Horton. Mr. Rickman loved to fish, hunt, and travel. He was
a jokester and always knew how to make you laugh. His side kick was his beloved pitbull-boxer “Lucy.”
He was a member of Spirit and Truth Sanctuary in Adamsville, TN. He was also a lifetime member of Free
Tomorrow Motorcycle Club. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
