Nora Eleanor “MeMe” Mullikin

Nora Eleanor “MeMe” Mullikin, age 84, of Lexington, Tennessee, passed away peacefully on June 5, 2026, at the home of her daughter, surrounded by love. Born on October 15, 1941, in Bemis, Tennessee, Nora lived a life devoted to her family. She found her greatest joy in spending time with those she loved most and treasured every moment with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Known affectionately as “MeMe,” she had a special way of making everyone feel loved, welcomed, and important. Her family was the center of her world, and she adored her grandbabies beyond measure.

Nora also enjoyed shopping, especially her favorite trips to Walmart, where she could often be found browsing the aisles and visiting with friends and neighbors. Her warm smile, caring heart, and loving spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her father, Earl Vance Gowan; her mother, Julia Ann Gowan; her sisters, Lydia Perry, Ellen Russell, Birdise Stewart, Norma Frances, and Quindline Gowan; and her brother, Earl Rufus Gowan.

Left to cherish her memory are her daughters, Kim Mullikin Hurley and husband Chad, and Rena Mullikin Ferrell and husband Lloyd; her sons, Leon Mullikin and wife Trisha, and Ron Mullikin; nine grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family members, and friends who loved her dearly.

The family would like to express their heartfelt gratitude to the compassionate hospice staff of Baptist Memorial Hospital-Huntingdon, especially Sadie, whose care, kindness, and support brought comfort to Nora and her family during her final days.

A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at a later date. Details will be shared on social media, and the family hopes all who knew and loved Nora will join them in honoring and celebrating her life.

Though our hearts are heavy with loss, we find comfort in knowing that Nora’s love, laughter, and legacy live on through the family she cherished so deeply. Her memory will forever remain in the hearts of those who were blessed to know and love her.
