7/14/1934 – 2/26/2026

Regina Joyce Simpson age 91 died in Lexington, TN on February 26th, 2026. Born on July 14th, 1934, in Saint Joseph, MO to Edgar Isaman and Martha Brown Isaman.

Married to the love of her life, Frank Stewart from March 1st, 1961 until his death on August 11th, 1981. She later married Red Simpson and was married for 32 years until his death in 2016.

She worked for the Bakersfield City Schools in Bakersfield CA and retired from there in 1995. She dedicated many years of her life to God as one of Jehovah’s Witnesses. She had a strong faith and loved sharing it with others.

Her love for her family was unbounding. Some things her grandchildren had to say about their memories of her; “She was always happy and was always having a good time.”, “The smell of her purse… L’Oreal lipstick… she always smelt like that. Every time I walk past that brand in the makeup aisle I think of her and feel warm and safe. We all love her and miss her very much.”, “She told the best stories. I remember the finger stories with high heel sister and each family member was a finger. She would take us out and let us each drive. She had three rules by live by 1. Never do drugs. 2. Always work for a living and 3. Never swim in the Kern River. I just remembered laughing and having the best time with her. She was a fun grandma.”, “She was so known for her witty comebacks, ugh she was so funny. She told me anytime someone told her, Oh I was just talking about you, she would say, good, tell me what you said, I haven’t heard anything good all day. I loved her song writing. Every time we talked from childhood on, she would tell stories about her kids growing up and she would sing me her songs. She loved her garden and always wanted me through to see all her flowers.”

She was such a practical joker, she loved to tease and get a laugh out of her friends. She loved to tell stories to the grands; she was a great storyteller. She loved animals and children and they loved her. We called her a social butterfly. She loved to follow her husband Red around to different venues that he played music at and visit with EVERYONE! She was a great song writer and loved music. I have never met anyone who didn’t love her.
