Ricky D Richardson passed away on June 25th, 2026 in Scott’s Hill, Tennessee at the age of 70. He was preceded by his father Marvin Richardson, his brothers Buddy Richardson and Mike Coatney, and his sister Brenda Clark. He is survived by his mother Betty Jo Richardson, his brothers Ron (Cyndi) Richardson, his sisters Anita Henley, Susan Bowers, Norita (Sammy) Hill, his children Derek (Shannon) Clark and Devin (Danny) Collett, his grandchildren Codi, Cara, Clark Collett, Elise and River Clark, and his great grandchild Hezekiah.
Ricky D Richardson was born on August 16, 1955, in Chester County, Tennessee, to Marvin and Betty Jo Richardson. He grew up in a large and caring family alongside his three brothers and four sisters. Ricky was a devoted son who deeply loved his mother and, after the passing of his father, remained by her side, helping care for her with unwavering dedication. He was also a wonderful brother, always present and supportive to each of his siblings.
Ricky was a loving and dedicated father to Derek and Devin. He was truly at his happiest when surrounded by his grandchildren. His oldest grandson, Codi, never stood a chance of avoiding a love for the Tennessee Volunteers and the St. Louis Cardinals—Ricky made sure of that. He proudly shared his passion for sports with his grandsons Clark and River, creating cherished memories that will last a lifetime.
With his granddaughters, Cara and Elise, Ricky shared another special part of himself—his love of art through drawing and painting. These moments reflected his gentle, creative spirit and his desire to connect in meaningful ways.
One of Ricky’s greatest qualities—and what made him so deeply loved—was his unwavering dedication. Whether it was family, friendships, or the teams he supported, if you were fortunate enough to be part of his life, you knew he would always be there when you needed him.
Family and friends will forever remember Ricky as a rock. Not because he preferred to stay close to home, but because he was the steady presence so many turned to in times of need. He was always there to listen, to lend a hand, or simply to sit together and enjoy a game.
Ricky’s legacy lives on through the love he gave so freely and the countless lives he touched. Though he will be deeply missed, the lessons he taught—about loyalty, dedication, and the importance of family—will continue to guide those who knew and loved him.
He will always be remembered, always cherished, and forever loved. And Rick, enjoy that old Rocky Top until we see you again- Your Loving Family.
Mr. Richardson’s graveside service will be held Tuesday June 30th, 2026 at Johnson’s Crossroads Cemetery (229 Johnson Crossroads Rd. Jacks Creek, Tennessee) at 11am.
