Max Ray Stanfill
Max Ray Stanfill passed away Sunday, January 8th, 2023 at the age of 93 in Huron, TN. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War. After the Army, he began working at Hardin Screw, where he devoted 5 years to the job. He purchased an ice plant which supplied ice to the workers building I-40. Max Stanfill was the first person to bring liquid fertilizer to the State of Tennessee. He started a propane gas company. Then created a grain buying and fertilizer supply station. He retired at the age of 60 and took up his full-time passion of raising Charolais cattle. He built Oak Haven Assisted Care Living Facility for his loved ones and Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation to help the people in the community. He was loved and respected by all who were blessed enough to know him.
He was preceded by his parents Cletus Franklin Stanfill and Mary Blanch Stanfill of Scotts Hill, his son Gary Stanfill of Huron, and his brother Billy (Ruby) Stanfill of Lexington, TN.
He is survived by his wife of 67 years Sally Stanfill, his sons Mark Stanfill of Lexington, TN, Rodney Stanfill of Cordova, TN, his daughter Angela (Tommy) Blankenship of Huron, his sisters Betty Jane McPeak of Nashville, TN, Margaret (Billy Joe) Grooms of Saltillo, TN, Peggy Wentworth of Lexington, TN, and Wanda (Larry) Townsend of Parson, TN; his grandchildren Gary (Emily) Stanfill Jr., Jessica (Brandon) McCormick, Jana (Dustin) Overman, Reece Stanfill, Payton Stanfill, Dylan Stanfill, and Mitchell (Stephany) Stanfill; great-grandchildren Emma LoBosco, Amos Overman, and June Overman.
His visitation will be held Tuesday January 10th, 2023 from 10:00am to 8:00pm and Wednesday January 11th, 2023 from 9:00am to 1:00pm. His service will begin at 1:00pm Wednesday January 11th, 2023.
