Carla Lewis Mitchell

Carla Lewis Mitchell passed away Saturday July 29th, 2023, in Nashville, TN at the age of 50. She was preceded by her father L.G. Lewis of Wildersville, TN and her childhood best friend Lana McDaniel of Wildersville, TN. She is survived by her mother June Rainwater Lewis of Wildersville, TN, her husband Jesse Mitchell of Wildersville, TN, her brother Greg Lewis of Franklin, TN, her sister Darla Williams (Ernie) of Wildersville, TN, his step-son Lee Mitchell (Misty) of Milan, TN, her grandchildren Gabriel Mitchell and Avi Beelace, her nephews Lelan Lewis, Dakota Williams, her niece Selena Williams, her aunts Virginia Mae Maness of Wildersville, TN and Peggy Lewis of Wildersville, TN, her best friend Joan Hart Hughes, along with numerous cousins. Carla was a faithful Christian woman who loved spending time with her family, as well as her church family. She loved cooking, grilling, camping, fishing, gardening, and canning. She adored her Boston terrier, Allie. She enjoyed vacations to the beach and the Smokey Mountains. She was an avid sports fan, who always followed the St. Louis Cardinals and Tennessee Volunteers. She worked as a scheduling planner for the Packaging Corporation of America from 1991-2022. She was famous for saying “teamwork makes the dream work!” amongst family, friends, and coworkers. In Carla’s last days, her philosophy was, “If I go or if I stay, I’m a winner either way!”

John 14:1-4
“Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me. In my Father’s house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also. And whither I go ye know, and the way ye know.”

Her visitation will be held at Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation Monday, July 31st, 2023, from 3pm- 8pm. Her visitation will recommence Tuesday, August 1st, 2023, from 2pm-4pm with her service to follow at 4pm. Ms. Mitchell will be laid to rest at Lewis Cemetery in Wildersville, TN.
