4/23/1953 – 2/26/2026

Ronnie Lynn Brown, age 72, of Sardis, Tennessee, passed away on Wednesday, February 26th, 2026.

Born April 23, 1953, in Henderson County, Tennessee, Ronnie was the son of the late Fay Brown (May 24, 1931 – May 8, 2012) and the late Edna Brown (September 13, 1930 – August 24, 2023). He was a twin, born alongside his brother Donnie, and the older brother of Randy. But he was born first. And he carried that with him — he always felt like a protector.

Ronnie was a truck driver by trade who valued independence above all else. He began his career driving over the road but didn’t like being away from home. So, he did what he always did — he figured it out himself. He bought his own gravel truck and worked for himself for the rest of his life. He answered to no one. He gave more than he took.

Ronnie grew up without his father — not by choice, but by circumstance. He carried that loss quietly, along with the weight of things no one ever taught him how to name. Despite it all, he loved deeply and loyally. He showed up in the ways he knew how — in truck rides, in working side by side, in showing up when it mattered even when the words wouldn’t come.

He is survived by his daughter, Dr. Emily Brown Stanfill; his brothers Donnie and Randy; and numerous nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews. He loved his nieces and nephews. He loved his brothers. Even when that love wasn’t returned.

Per Ronnie’s wishes, he will be cremated. He didn’t want a show. But the family is going to have a small gathering because they want to hear happy stories of him — and want to honor him because he deserves it. His Celebration of Life will be held at Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation in Lexington, Tennessee. Sunday, March 8, 2026, 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM with his service to follow at 2:00 PM.

Ronnie didn’t want a show. He wanted the truth. So here it is: he was a gentle giant who got dealt the short end of the stick again and again, and he kept showing up anyway. He lived and loved fiercely. That’s not dumb. That’s the bravest kind of strength there is.
