Wallace Lunsford

Wallace Lunsford, 84, of Lexington, TN was welcomed to Heaven on March 30th, 2026, at the Lexington Post Acute Nursing Home. He was born January 3rd, 1942, in Harlan County, to the late Willie and Minnie Allen Lunsford.
He was a former employee of Harlan Appalachian Regional Hospital, Kentucky State Vocational School, a coal tipple operator for Clyde Bennet for several years and a Kentucky State Electrical Inspection for over 35 years.
He was a veteran of the United States Army. He loved Southern Gospel Music, especially Bill Gaither and the Homecoming Friends. Lunsford believed in the Church of God faith. A former resident of Harlan County, Lunsford had lived in Lexington, Tennessee for the past 26 years.
Besides his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Doug Lunsford; a stepbrother, James Scarborough; a stepsister, Mary Napier; is ex-wife, Jean Sanders Lunsford; a nephew, Michael Douglas Lunsford; and a special cousin, Bill Lunsford.
Survivors include two sons: James Douglas Lunsford, and wife, Tammy, of Lexington, Tennessee; and Paul Richard Lunsford of Evarts; a daughter, Lisa Browning and husband, Jeff, of Florida; a sister, Jean Napier, of Harlan; four grandchildren: Adam Honeycutt, Joshua Honeycutt, Megan Lunsford, and Jamie Lee Jordan Lunsford; seven great-grandchildren, three great-great granddaughters, and several other family members and many friends.
Family followed Mr. Lunsford wishes to be cremated. His celebration of life will be held at Stanfill Funeral Home & Cremation May 2nd, 2026 from 1pm-3pm.
